3rd Steering Committee Convenes to Review Reform Progress and Tackle Institutional Bottlenecks

On April 30, 2026, members of the Steering Committee convened at the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in Skopje for the 3rd Steering Committee Meeting. Chaired by Vesna Indova Tocko, the session brought together institutional stakeholders and project leadership to review implementation milestones and ensure multi-institutional alignment.
The meeting commenced with the formal adoption of the agenda and approval of the previous meeting’s minutes. The Team Leader and committee members reviewed the status of action points established during the second Steering Committee meeting before transitioning to a detailed progress summary for Quarter 1 of 2026. The presentation covered achievements across core project activities, setting a clear baseline for the implementation roadmap planned for Quarter 2.
A major focal point of the session was a debriefing on recent strategic engagements with the Minister and high Government officials, outlining key alignment points for national water policy implementation. Additionally, participants addressed emerging developments within the sector, specifically discussing strategic approaches to overcome persistent legal and institutional bottlenecks that challenge reform progress.
The committee concluded the gathering by establishing updated conclusions and action items, reinforcing ongoing collaboration across ministries and public authorities to drive the project's next operational phases.
